College Prep - With Heart
We are a private, non-profit, high school in Austin, Texas, that is accredited by Cognia (AdvancEd,/SACS - the same accrediting agency of the University of Texas). Huntington-Surrey has been educating students in the Austin area since 1973. Our school offers open enrollment to students who are in grades 9 through 12. On occasion, we may accept exceptional 8th graders who are ready for 9th-grade level coursework or above.
What makes us special? With core class sizes typically capped at an 8:1 student to teacher ratio, we have the ability to ensure that no student slips through the cracks. We offer our kids a college preparatory academic experience in a safe, nurturing, mutually respectful environment. Our graduates are not only prepared for college, but for life. Huntington-Surrey students are educated by dedicated teachers who employ multiple teaching strategies. We get to know our students on a personal level. There is no "teaching to the middle" here!
The formula is simple: our teachers are excited to teach engaging curriculum to engaged students. We value our students and it is our honor to be a part of this dynamic stage of growth in their life.
